You might start looking like a mad scientist... however you'll be brewing coffee like never before!

The Hario Syphon Technica is aptly named because it utilises precise scientific technology to produce sensational aromas and fragrances.  Also known as a "vac-pot", the syphon brewing method allows you to be in total control of the temperature and brewing time. 

How does this work you as?

You will need:

550ml of boiling water (bottom bulb)

33g of medium-coarse coffee grounds (insert filter and coffee in top chamber)

The water is suspended above a heat source (Hario Smart Beam Heater), until the water (550ml boiling water) turns from a liquid to a gas (start your timer). As the gas expands, it leaves no option but for the water to be  pushed up the tube, through a filter and into your ground coffee (upper chamber, starting the brewing process (after 30sec stir coffee grounds).

At this stage you can allow your coffee to infuse as long as you like, this is where you can experiment to see what strength you prefer your coffee to be (generally about 2 mins brewing in total).

Once happy with the infusion, you simply remove from the heat, and the coffee will filter back down into the bottom bulb.

Once mastered, the syphon brewing method is extremely rewarding and fun to watch. You could even impress your friends at you next gathering!
